Played at MainLine Theatre in Montréal Born in Toronto's East End working class district, George F. Walker began as a taxi-driver when he heard that Factory Theatre (Ontario) was calling for new authors. After submitting his first play in 1972, he has since become one of the country's most prolific writers. First produced in 1997, Suburban Motel is Walker's second series of plays focusing on the area where he grew up. Set in the same ground-level motel room, twenty wonderfully vivid and creative characters pass through the low-budget inn, each with their own stories that hysterically unfold in six individual plays. Twenty acclaimed actors join 5 diverse directors and a crew of some of Montréal's hottest designers to bring Walker's six-play oeuvre Suburban Motel to the city for the very first time. See below for individual show details.
